Wildflower Meadows
This combines a combination of native wild grasses with
attractive native wildflowers and seed heads and can be in combination
with a range of native bulbs.
This
would be cut either in,
late June if it was designed as a spring wild
meadow,
or,
late September if it’s a spring and summer wild
meadow.
To
achieve the best results invasive perennials need to be removed from the
site and the fertility of the soil reduced . This is often best achieved
by removing the existing top soil and using the sub soil with a thin
crumbly tilth above to seed.
Alternatively or in collaboration with
seed we would use wildflower plugs.
Wildflower plugs can be used to
increase the diversity within an existing sward.
Every effort will be
made to source seed and or wildflower plugs of true british and ideally
local provenance.
